Phil Walleystack is a multifaceted Noongar artist from country Western Australia with traditional connections to the Whadjuk, Yued, Ballardong, and Wardarndi language groups.
A singer-songwriter, dancer, musician, and author, Phil's artistic journey began in childhood, leading him to study at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and the National Aboriginal Islander Skills Development Academy (NAISDA).
His diverse training spans traditional Aboriginal to contemporary dance and music, including Jazz, Ballet, and Tap, enabling him to develop a unique sound that blends genres like Jazz, Rock, Hip Hop with his Indigenous heritage.
Driven by a passion for entertaining, Phil delivers a unique and powerful performance - combining the past and present through a truly exciting experience.
With his first album “Strong”, he created a fully costumed stage show of the same name based around the album. His second album, "Storytellah," released in 2019 to widespread acclaim, underscores his innovative fusion of pop and rock, co-written and produced by internationally acclaimed sound engineer Malcolm Luker .
After years touring internationally Phil has the ability to connect with every member of the audience with his raw talent and unique style of storytelling and humour. His harmonious mix of melodies enchant and captivate audiences the world over.
Phil has performed in the USA, Middle East, Germany, France, China, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
An esteemed ambassador for the arts in Western Australia, Phil's contributions have earned him finalist positions for the West Australian of the Year Awards in 2017 and 2018, for his service to the Aboriginal community and for achievements in Arts and Culture, respectively.
In 2012 Phil established Aboriginal Shows and Productions and has been producing his own stage shows around his music and performing this throughout the world, in addition to managing and producing events for clients across the corporate, government and non profit sector. In 2020 Phil established a not for profit Indigenous Arts Foundation to give Aboriginal youth pathways to education, training and career opportunities in the arts.
